Marugoto Vegan Dining Asakusa
Quick info
About
Marugoto Vegan Dining Asakusa (formerly The Farm Cafe) is a small, fully vegan cafe on the banks of the Sumida River, a short walk from Senso ji Temple. It opened in October 2018 and is one of the few dedicated vegan options in the Asakusa sightseeing area. The entire menu is plant based, gluten free, additive free, refined sugar free, alcohol free in cooking, and free of the five pungent vegetables, making it compatible with a wide range of dietary needs. The owner and all staff are vegan, which shapes the service: warm, knowledgeable, and comfortable discussing ingredients. The food leans toward Japanese home cooking with dishes like curry rice, vegetable tempura, fried tempeh, salad plates, and brown rice sets. The space is small (about 10 seats inside) with a terrace that offers a view of Tokyo Skytree. The clientele skews heavily international, roughly 90% overseas visitors.
