About
Los Tacos Azules is the Sangenjaya original from chef Marco Garcia, open since 2018. Garcia imports heirloom corn from small scale farmers in Mexico and handles nixtamalization and grinding in house each morning. The menu is short and seasonal: a handful of vegetable tacos and quesadillas alongside carnitas, Wagyu barbacoa, and a few sides like frijoles charros and guacamole. The vegetable options pull from Japanese produce like shungiku, kikuimo, and cauliflower in combinations that feel intentional rather than obligatory. It is a morning and lunchtime only operation, closing by mid afternoon, with no evening service.
Good to know
- Weekend lines are common and waits of up to an hour have been reported, especially around midday on Sundays. Arriving close to the 9am open helps.
- About an 8 minute walk from Sangenjaya Station. Slightly outside the main cluster of the neighborhood.
- Everything is made to order, so expect some time between ordering and eating even once seated.
- The sister location in Ebisu serves the same daytime brunch menu inside the Tacos Bar space. The evening Tacos Bar concept is a separate, fish focused omakase and not related to this menu.
